Spatial Relations

According to physics, space does not exist independently.
According to the string theory of physics, space does not exist independently. In other words: there is no separation between things, so everything is related even though they don’t appear to be. As with the butterfly effect, a small action here can have a huge impact far away. Not to mention people living within a given space, everything inside is even closer. The same is true of our relationship with space—everyone living in a space is not independent of the space itself. They influence each other. This is also part of the Chinese concept of Feng Shui, which says that space has an invisible but seemingly existing “Qi” or energy. And this qi runs through every corner of the space. This means that space carries energy, so how things are placed and arranged, what is placed or removed, etc. will affect the space and the physical and mental feelings, perceptions, etc. of the people (or animals and plants) who live in it.
But the opposite is true too, the people living inside a space will ultimately affect the final use, decoration, appearance, etc. of the room. So, we are not independent of space, nor is space independent of everything inside it. It’s all connected together.
The point we are trying to make is helping our readers become aware of this idea when they think about the spaces they inhabit, because how we arrange or rearrange each room is not just a matter of whim or personal preference, but rather it has far-reaching influence and significance later down the road.
You can try it out now and see the difference you can immediately feel after you put some things away, then compare that to when you left them all outside. You can even take pictures of your room before and after. It’s the same feeling when you walk into a messy room then walk into another cleanly organized room. It’s a simple experiment, but it easily brings this concept to home. And the same goes to two identical rooms, neatly organized in two distinct ways,or even two rooms messy and cluttered in two distinct ways, all gives you different vibes.
It may have been said that architecture can speak, but the space inside not only speaks, but also tells stories.
So, isn’t your space and room decor telling your story as well? We certainly think so.
